Earlier this year, Amazon launched their latest venture, Amazon Autos. In partnership with Hyundai, customers could purchase new Hyundai vehicles directly through Amazon. In the latest update, Amazon has expanded to offer used and certified pre-owned vehicles on its platform.
What is Amazon Autos?
Ever wish buying a new car was as easy as shopping online? Say hello to Amazon Autos. Currently being trialled in 130 cities across the US, Amazon Autos is a sales channel that allows customers to browse, order, finance and schedule pickup of their new Hyundai vehicle from participating dealers. It combines the excitement of purchasing a new car with the ease of the Amazon shopping experience.
Used and Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles Expansion
The last eight months have obviously treated them well, as Amazon have announced their new expansion. Dealers can now list their used and CPO vehicle inventory on Amazon. This gives customers a wider selection of vehicles to choose from at various price points, hitting a wider market.

The expansion is beginning in Los Angeles, with the plan to introduce this new structure into additional cities over the next few months. Global leader of Amazon Autos, Fan Jin, says, “This expansion is driven by strong interest from our dealer partners…meeting dealer demand for broader online reach while offering customers a wider selection of high-quality vehicles to fit your budget and unique lifestyle needs. This move continues our commitment to support local dealerships.”
Features of the new expansion include:
- A quality selection of pre-owned vehicles, starting with Hyundai dealers and with more dealers being added in the coming months.
- Customer protection features, including a 3-day/300-mile return policy and a minimum 30-day/1,000-mile Limited Warranty on all vehicles.
- Transparent pricing and comprehensive vehicle information, including Vehicle History Reports for all listings.
- Seamless integration with participating dealerships to book test drives.
Essentially, Amazon Autos aims to make the car-buying experience easier and more user-friendly.
