Brand Monkey and Citizen have worked successfully together for several years on both Vendor and Seller Central, selling across EU in the UK, DE, FR and ES.
As Citizen looked towards the next steps to grow their business, and with our extensive knowledge of their products and brand voice, the natural expansion was into further Amazon marketplaces across the EU.
Strategy
The first step was ensuring every product was compliant in each market before selling.
Citizen wanted to continue selling in ES and FR, so we also assisted with new VAT and EPR registrations in those marketplaces, including packaging waste, WEEE and battery waste. Following the new VAT and EPR implementation, they would be able to store products locally in those markets.
Development
To implement the new expansion, we leveraged our own expertise in compliance and marketplace management alongside our partner AVASK. AVASK helps businesses stay compliant wherever they choose to sell, handling the submission of registration and ongoing filing.
Brand Monkey managed this process from front to back, so Citizen knew their business strategy was in safe hands.
Results
As well as the successful marketplace expansion helping grow Citizen across more EU countries, the development of their existing marketplaces will have a greater long-term impact. After the successful implementation of VAT in FR and ES, amongst other marketplaces across the EU, Citizen can now opt for local storage of their products, meaning quicker delivery times to their customers. This will result in improved customer confidence, reduced fulfilment costs and a resulting sales lift, improving their overall brand presence.
Ongoing Support
All new and existing marketplace requirements were delivered by the requested live dates in all markets, well in time for Q4, the busiest period of the year. We continue to provide ongoing support for Citizen, including PPC management, promotional strategy, operational support, and ongoing A/B testing and polling on their content to ensure they remain at the top of their game. This is something we’ve already been doing for years, and the trust we’ve built has been integral to the global growth of Citizen.
